Toronto Couple Arrested After Attempted Car Theft in Niagara Falls

Toronto pair facing charges after attempted car theft in the Falls.

Two people are facing charges after an attempted car theft in Niagara Falls. 

Officers says just before 6:30 last night, police were called to Stanley Avenue and Robinson Street. 

A brown Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Stanley stopped when a women fell into the roadway in front of the car. 

When the driver got out, a man appeared and tried to take the vehicle. 

The driver confronted the man, and the suspect verbally threated him with an unseen gun. 

The suspect also tried to hit the driver. 

The driver and a bystander were able to pull the man from the car, and he fled before police arrived.

He was located in St. Catharines a short time later.

Officers say the male suspect and the woman who fell are a couple, and the woman provided a false name to police. 

Both were arrested. 

Facing charges are 34 year old Shona Alexis Borecky of Toronto and 45 year old Dimce Kaluzovski of Toronto.
