Today is Earth Day

Plenty of activities around Niagara to help clean up our communities

Celebrate Earth Day today with the City of Niagara Falls by participating in a Community Clean-Up.

Volunteers will meet at  the MacBain Community Centre  at 3 pm and will scatter throughout parks, trails, walkways and boulevards to collect litter and debris.

City officials also note its a great opportunity for students to acquire community service hours.

Volunteers are also invited to join the Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee for a Community Clean-Up in Fort Erie.

Interested residents are asked to meet at the  Crescent Road entrance of the Friendship Trail at 3:30 this afternoon.

Secondary school students can get up two hours of community service.

Bags and gloves will be provided.

St Catharines residents are asked to help clean up downtown tomorrow.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 am at 80 King Street.

All tools will be provided.

The clean up is hosted by Niagara College Sustainability.

And the region’s waste management staff will be at the Welland Farmer’s Market  tomorrow to close out Earth Week.

They will be answering your questions about our programs/services, as well as selling Blue/Grey Boxes, Green Bins, and Kitchen Catchers.
