Today is Ash Wednesday

And it was a much more subdued start to Lent at the Vatican because of the pandemic

Pope Francis,  who normally marks the start of the penitential season with an outdoor procession between two ancient churches in Rome, instead said a Mass for about 120 people in St. Peter's Basilica.

During the period, Christians are called on to fast, practice more good deeds and give up something.

One Connecticut priest has come up with a great idea.

He's encouraging people to give up "negativity" for Lent this year.
