Weapons and suspected drugs found in vehicle on the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie.

Three people are facing charges following an incident on the Peace Bridge.

Around 3:00 a.m. this morning, police were called to the bridge by members of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Investigators say around 11:00 p.m. last night, the suspects tried to enter Canada in a Dodge Grand Caravan.

CBSA officers arrested the suspect after a search of the van turned up a firearm, two imitation guns and suspected drugs.

Niagara Regional Police continued the arrest made by the officers, and has taken over the investigation.

Facing charges are 34 year old Matthew Brian Mailhot of Fort Erie, and 45 year old Courtney Alford Reid and 38 year old Kristy Fisher, both from Hamilton.

A court date has been set for September 27th.

It's not known where the van had been traveling from.

Anyone with information is asked to call 905-688-4111, extension 1022300.
