Thorold to Host COVID Friendly Christmas Events

There will be no Santa Claus Parade in Thorold this year.

It's usually held on the last Saturday of November, but it has been cancelled this year due to the pandemic.

The organizing committee is teaming up with the BIA to make sure the holiday spirit is still alive and well this year.

They have planned several alternative holiday events starting this Saturday.

There's a grand reopening of downtown Thorold, a socially distanced scavenger hunt and there's even a mailbox to drop off your letters to Santa.

Families will also be able to check out virtual letter readings with Santa.

The other festivities include story time with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, virtual holiday music and dazzling holiday business and light displays.

The city has posted a map of all the lights on it's website and residents are welcome to send pictures of their homes in order to be featured.

There will be lots of holiday lights along St. David's Street West, heading down Front Street and looping around Towpath Street from November 28th to January 4th.
