Eight groups determined at World Cup draw earlier today.

Canada will be taking on Belgium, Morocco and Croatia in the opening group stage of the World Cup.

The draw took place earlier today in Doha, Qatar, and Canada, which was placed in Group F, was the last ball taken.

The Canadian men are ranked 38th in the world.

Belgium is at No. 2, Croatia is at No. 16, and Morocco is at No. 24.

Rules of the draw meant that Canada could not be put in the same group as fellow CONCACAF qualifiers Mexico and the United States.

The tournament will take place in Qatar November 21st through December 18th.

The teams are divided into eight groups of four for the opening round.

Each team will play the others in its group once, and the top two teams will advance to the knockout stage.

Canada will take on Belgium in the first game of the opening group stage on November 23rd.
