St. Catharines Skunk Tests Positive For Rabies

Public Health reminding residents to avoid contact with wild animals.

The Niagara Region is reminding residents not to apprach any wild animals. 

The reminder comes after a skunk in St. Catharines has tested positive for rabies. 

So far this year, five skunks in Niagara have tested positive. 

Pet owners are advised to make sure cats and dogs are up to date on rabies vaccinations, and prevent pets from roaming off-leash or unsupervised.
