Over 1,000 people gathered in St. Catharines on Saturday to show support for Ukraine.

Niagara residents gathered in St. Catharines this weekend to show their support for Ukraine.

A crowd gathered at the steps of Sts. Cyril and Methodist Church on Niagara Street on Saturday to denounce the attack initiated by Russia.

The rally was organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Niagara Chapter, which says about 1,000 people participated, including many people from the Polish, Italian, French, Fillipino, Romanian, Latvian, Belorus, Peruvian, Finnish, Slovak, and Hungarian communities.

At one point, the group stood on the QEW overpass on Niagara Street, waving flags as drivers showed support by honking their horns.
