St. Catharines GM Workers Prepare to Go Back to Work, if Tentative Deal is Ratified

Today is the last day of voting, for members of the United Auto Workers union in the United States.

If they decide to accept the tentative deal with General Motors, Plant Chair Tim McKinnon says it would be good news for the laid off workers in St. Catharines.

"If they approve it, things would happen rather quickly. I should have everybody back to work Monday."

McKinnon says some of them might be called in to work over the weekend, to make sure all the equipment is working properly.

The strike has been going on for over a month now. About 800 workers have been off the job here in Niagara.
