Solicitor General Hints New Re-opening Plan Will Take "Sector by Sector" Approach

Solicitor General Sylvia Jones is dropping more hints about the provincial re-opening plan.

She says the province is moving away from the regional approach used in the past, and will instead adopt a "sector by sector" strategy in which different kinds of businesses would gradually re-open, depending on risk.

"Sector by sector is important because frankly there are differences and nuances depending on what kind of business you operate. So that's why we want to look at sector by sector to see what can safely reopen and when" she said.

This comes after the Ministry of Health confirmed they won't bring back the colour-coded re-opening framework.

Previously, the province imposed business closures and public health restrictions on a region by region basis.

While an exact re-opening date hasn't been confirmed yet, sources claim to Toronto media that the province is looking at a rough timeline of June or early July to fully re-open the economy.
