Slim Chances of a White Christmas in Niagara

It's going to be chilly over the next couple of days, but it doesn't look like we're going to have a white Christmas.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Sherry Williams is predicting warmer temperatures for early next week.

"Temperatures for Sunday and Monday are looking at 4 or 5 degrees right now with a possibility of some sun mixed in there. Overnight lows staying near or above zero, so we're going to get a lot of melting."

But it's still a few days away, and Williams says the forecast could still change.

"Being five, six, even seven plus days in advance the weather can change. We could see a change in the pattern and maybe we'll get something before Christmas. But right now our models are saying it's going to stay dry."

We got a lot of snow this morning. Environment Canada had to issue a Winter Weather Travel advisory for the Niagara Region, but it has since been called off.

Williams says a cold front will bring another 2 centimetres of snow tomorrow.

The temperature should drop to minus 7 in the afternoon, but it will feel more like minus 16 with the wind chill.
