Ron Kore Going to Back to Work at Fonthill Sobeys After Issuing Apology

Ron Kore is back to work at the Fonthill Sobeys.

The Pelham Town Councillor faced backlash a few weeks ago after the Voice of Pelham reported that he went to work at the grocery store while experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

Kore has apologized for any unintended consequences of his actions may have caused early in the pandemic.

He says his store was busier than ever and his first instinct was to help.

He’s now realizing that some of his decisions were imperfect.

Sobeys investigated and it says the store adhered to all cleaning and sanitization standards.

Kore says Niagara Region Public Health contacted him on April 13th, to inform him that he had been in contact with someone with COVID-19.

He says the only time he left his home between April 13th and 17th was to be tested.

He received his positive results on April 20th.

Kore says Public Health gave his permission to resume normal activities of work because he was no longer infectious, but he decided to remain in self-isolation for 14 days.
