Lincoln Humane Society says the dog has attacked four people
We find out December 15th if a St. Catharines area dog alleged to have bitten a campaigning city councillor is released from the Lincoln Humane Society.
Society president Kevin Strooband tells us not only are they protecting the dog until then, but also the community from the dog.
"It has bitten four times in the past, including an 11-year old child who was bitten on the back of the leg, and needed stitches. We have photographs and statements from the mother, and the EMS report that coorobrates what happened," he says.
Niagara police have told us on the date Councillor Joe Kushner says he was attacked by the dog, they responded to a call to find individual claimed a dog attacked him, suffering minor injuries. We have reached out to Councillor Kushner for comment.
Meanwhile, Strooband points out most of an online petition to save Rocky is misinformation, and the society has a job to do. "Ensuring that the public is protected from aggressive dogs. We understand the owners are fighting for their dog, but we would hope that it would go through the proper process, and not vilify an organization that is doing its' job and protecting the community."
Niagara police have not laid any charges.
