The Ford Government is investing $2.2 million towards a supportive housing project in St. Catharines.

The Oakdale Commons project will include 15 supportive housing units for those who are risk of homelessness.

Those living in the building will have access to a community room, a community garden and on-site laundry facilities.

The YWCA Women's Resource Centre will also provide skill development programs on site.

Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark made the big announcement in the Garden City this morning.

He says the Ford Government is working to make sure that every Ontarian has a place to call home.

Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says the project will help ensure that people in St. Catharines have a roof over their head and have access to programs to help improve their quality of life.
