Game 7 set for tonight at 7:00

The province has done an about face.

Premier Doug Ford announcing 550 fully vaccinated frontline healthcare workers will be allowed to attend Game 7 of the Leafs vs Canadiens playoff series tonight at Scotiabank Arena.

This will mark the first in person sporting event in the province since the pandemic began

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown got the ball rolling over the weekend asking the Ford government  to allow 2,500 fully vaccinated health care and essential care workers into the game.

Yesterday the province denied the request.

On Saturday, Quebec allowed 2,500 fans into the Montreal Bell Centre to watch Game 6.

Meantime, the NHL is lobbying the federal government to get a travel exemption for its players during the third and final rounds of the playoffs.

A two-week quarantine is currently required for all non-essential travellers entering Canada.
