The Ontario government making an investment to help those with mobility issues get to and from vaccination sites.
The province has devoted $3.7 million in partnership with Ontario Community Support Association to transport disabled people and seniors with limited mobility to and from vaccination clinics.
The Accessible Drive to Vaccines program will connect eligible individuals with staff and volunteers who will drive them to and from nearby clinics.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says the program will come in handy in Niagara.
"The health and safety of vulnerable seniors and people with disabilities is a top priority as we continue to move ahead with the three-step plan of our Roadmap to Reopen strategy. With a significant number of seniors in Niagara, this is a welcome program for our region."
So far, over three-quarters of all Ontario adults have received their first shot, and about 26 percent have received both.
