Ford defended his Governments decision to lift vaccine passports today, saying we have to learn to live with this and get on with our lives.
Premier Doug Ford was asked today about the Proof of vaccination QR codes ending on March 1st.
The reporter suggested businesses needed more direction from the Province. Individual businesses will still be allowed to keep the vaccine passport in place but they will no longer be mandated to do so.
During an announcement this morning, the Premier was asked what businesses should do as the reporter suggested they might lose business if they don't have a vaccine passport system or face targeted harassment if they keep it in place.
Premier Doug Ford stated he thinks the market will dictate what businesses choose to do.
"You can go to Wal-Mart, Costco, you can go shopping, you don't know if the person beside you is vaccinated or not. We also know that it doesn't matter if you have 1 shot or 10 shots, you can catch COVID. You see the Prime Minister caught COVID, he has 3 shots, I know hundreds of people with 3 shots who caught COVID."
Ford says we can't stay in this position forever.
"We have to learn to live with this and get on with our lives. I bet if I asked every damn person in this room, do you want to wear these damn masks or do you want them off. They want to get back to normal, they want to have dinner with their families and there is every single person including myself who knows someone who is unvaccinated."
Ford says he hates telling anyone what to do and it is time to move forward.
"Everyone is done with this, like we are done with it."
