A gas station in Port Colborne has received backlash from the community.

As reported by the CBC, the Pioneer gas station on Main Street West posted a sign offering discounts on car washes and convenience store items to anyone able to prove they received a COVID-19 shot.

The sign received attention on social media, with commenters saying this is a human rights violation.

A spokesperson says the City has heard concerns of alleged discrimination, and the Ontario Human Rights Code has the authority on discrimination complaints.

The gas station owners has been contacted by their gas supplier, the Parkland Corporation, who offered to change the sign, offering a discount to all customers.
