Police Seek Grandparent Scam Suspect

West Lincoln woman scammed out of $10,000.

Police are on the hunt for a suspect in a fraud investigation. 

Just before 7:00 p.m. last night, officers were called to a home in West Lincoln. 

An elderly woman told police she received a phone call from someone who identified himself as Blair Walker, an RCMP officer from St. Catharines. 

The caller told the woman that her grandson had been involved in an accident and was in police custody on drug charges. 

She was asked to hand over $10,000 in cash for his bail. 

The woman withdrew funds from her bank account and handed the money to a female suspect who came to her house. 

She later spoke with her family and was informed that her grandson had not been in an accident or arrested. 

The suspect who collected the funds is described as follows:

  • Female
  • White
  • 25 years
  • 5’7" tall
  • Thin build
  • Long black hair
  • Wearing a short black dress
  • Wearing a short black jacket
