Update: Police Search For Driver in Fatal Hit and Run

Cyclist killed in Lincoln early this morning, police release description of suspect car

Police say they were called out to the scene this morning around 7:30 on the North Service Road between Sann Road North and Tufford Road North where they found a male cyclist in his 50's suffering critical injuries.

Paramedics rushed the man to hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the cyclist fled the scene westbound on the North Service Road.

The vehicle is described as a 4 door sedan, grey/blue or light green with dark tinted windows and  heavy damage to the passenger side windshield with a hole in the glass near the roof line.

Police add the roof of the passenger side is dented and there is damage to the front bumper and hood.

Officers have also determined the driver was aware of the collision and left the scene anyway.

The driver is described as a white male in his 30's with a heavy set build, around 6 feet tall with dark coloured hair.

He was wearing a grey jacket or sweater and a red checkered shirt.

Police advise the driver to contact legal counsel and plan a peaceful surrender as soon as possible

The NRP is also asking members of the public in Hamilton, Halton and Toronto to be on the lookout for the damaged car.

Police are asking anyone in the area between 7 and 8 this morning to review security cameras or dash cameras for suspicious activity.
