Over 1,000 Active COVID-19 Cases in Niagara

Niagara Public Health is reporting 107 new cases of COVID-19.

As a result, the region's active case count is at 1062. 

The death toll remains steady at 376. 

However, there has been a rise in the number of hospitalized patients in the region. 

There are 28 people in Niagara hospitals with the virus. 

There are 16 confirmed cases of the variant that was initially discovered in the U.K.

An additional 827 cases are being investigated after variants were detected on screening. 

The region has 32 active outbreaks. 

There are 273 cases in St. Catharines, 270 in Welland, and 169 in Niagara Falls. 

The province is reporting 4401 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 deaths today. 

There are 1282 new cases in Toronto, 772 in Peel, 562 in York Region, 339 in Ottawa and 224 in Durham.
