Ontario to Hit Vital COVID-19 Milestone

The province is expecting to hit the 1 millionth COVID-19 vaccination dose administered today.

Premier Doug Ford says that by the end of the month, over 120 mass vaccination clinics are expected to open in the province.

Ford says this will give the province the ability to supply 150,000 doses per day, depending on the supply from the federal government.

He went on to state that there was more good news regarding Ontario's supply of doses.

"It appears that our vaccine supply is continuing to improve. Yesterday, we received 194,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine."

Starting this Friday, 325 pharmacies in areas such as Peel, Toronto and Windsor-Essex will begin administering AstraZeneca doses to Ontarians between the ages of 60-64.

However, there is no word on when Niagara pharmacies will be able to administer vaccines.

In addition, beginning this weekend, primary care professionals in Hamilton, Toronto, Peel, Guelph, Peterborough and Simcoe-Muskoka will be offering vaccines in primary care settings such as physician's offices.

Eligible adults who wish to book a vaccine appointment can click here to find a participating pharmacy and book an appointment.

On Monday, the province will also launch an online booking system and provincial customer service desk to book appointments for doses.
