Ontario Providing Funds to Support Victims of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence

The Ontario government is investing $5 million over two years to provide more supports to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

The money will be made available through the Victim Support Grant, and will be used to help police departments respond to the needs of victims.

The OPP, as well as all municipal and First Nations police services, can apply for funding through the program.

Applicants can use the money for initiatives such as launching education and awareness campaigns to inform at-risk groups providing specialized training to law enforcement and support personnel.

Successful applicants will need to collaborate with one other organization that supports victims and survivors in various areas, such as housing education, justice and more.

The maximum funding for each project is capped at $200,000.
