Ontario is Going Back Into Grey Lockdown

Sources say it will begin at 12:01 Saturday morning

The Ford government is putting its foot on the emergency brake.

Multiple sources say the entire province will go into grey lockdown for at least the next month.

The province has two media conferences set for today

Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, Co-Chair of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table and Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, will hold a media briefing to present updated modelling on the province's ongoing response to the 2019 novel coronavirus at 10 this morning.

Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Dr. David Williams and Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, to make an announcement at 1:30 this afternoon.

The shutdown will mean the end to haircuts and personal care services as well as indoor dining.

Retailers will be allowed to remain open with strict capacity limits.

We also will not be allowed to gather with anyone outside of our household indoors and outside gatherings will be capped at five people,

Sources say schools will remain open and golf courses will also be allowed to open as planned.

This comes amid soaring rates of new infections of the coronavirus.

The province also marked its seventh day of cases over 2,000.
