Ontario Announces TikTok Ban from Government Devices

Ontario has banned TikTok from all government-owned devices and from the personal devices of PC Party caucus members.

ONTARIO - Ontario is following suit with Ottawa and all of the other provinces, banning TikTok from government-owned devices.

The Ford Government has also banned the video-sharing social media app on the personal devices of Progressive Conservative Party caucus members.

Treasury Board President Prabmeet Sarkaria made the big announcement yesterday, where he also revealed that the government is pulling all of it's advertising campaigns from TikTok.

The federal government banned the social media app from all of its government-owned devices last week, after a review by the chief information officer of Canada determined that the social media platform "presents an unacceptable level of risk to privacy and security."
