Thieves take off with vehicle following armed robbery.

Niagara Regional Police are on the hunt for a pair of suspects following an armed robbery in St. Catharines.

Around 7:19 this morning, officers were called to a home near Ernest and Dorothy Streets.

Detectives say as the victim was leaving for work, he noticed a car stop in front of his house and a person get out.

The victim, who didn't think anything of it, turned around to go back inside his home when a suspect armed with a black pistol demanded the keys to his 2006 Land Rover.

The victim was hit with the pistol during the confrontation, and gave the keys to the suspect.

The suspect tossed the keys to a second suspect, who got into the Land Rover and drove off towards Dorothy Street.

The man who was holding the pistol is believed to have left in the suspect vehicle.

The victim wasn't injured.

At the time of the incident, the victim's family were asleep in the home, and they weren't hurt either.

The victim’s stolen SUV is a blue 2006 Land Rover - Range Rover Sport with Ontario license plate CRVD937.

The two suspects are both described as white males around 18 to 25 years old and are about 5'10 with slim builds.

They were both wearing grey hooded sweatshirts, grey sweatpants, black shoes, with a black satchel strapped across the male's torso.

The males were also wearing a black balaclava mask, and one of them was holding a black pistol.

Residents or businesses in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 6:45AM and 7:45AM on December 28, 2021.

Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
