NRP Handing Out Winter Care Bundles

Police have once again partnered with Socks For Change to launch an annual program to help the homeless.

Last week police handed out winter care bundles to approximately 75 people at the Niagara Falls Community Outreach Soup Kitchen.

Each bundles contains a pair of gloves, a neck warmer, a toque and socks

This week officers will hand out 50 of the care packages in St. Catharines.

The program will continue across the region until the end of March.

Chief Bryan MacCulloch says " We are very pleased to have had the opportunity to partner with such a great Niagara-based program as Socks For Change.    The complex community issue of homelessness is not one that is easily solved and we recognize that we have a role to play in the solution.  Whether it be our civilian and sworn members volunteering at Out of the Cold programs, or with our Community Engagement Unit officers delivering care bundles, I am extremely proud of the efforts of all our members, who selflessly give back to their communities in Niagara."
