NRP Charge Two People in Connection to May Shooting in Port Colborne

A third suspect released unconditionally

Niagara Regional Police have charged two people in connection to a shooting incident that took place in Port Colborne last month. 

A third suspect in the case has been released unconditionally.

NRP have charged 22 year old Matthew Chupil of Stoney Creek with a variety of gun related offences, including discharge of a firearm in a reckless manor, possession restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence, possession of a firearm, weapon, or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order. 

19 year old Jayden Tittle of Hamilton is also charged with discharge of a firearm in a reckless manor (accessory).

The pair were were held in-custody pending a bail hearing.  

TIttle attended a bail hearing and was released from custody on a release order/undertaking. 

Chupil remains in custody at the Niagara Detention Centre and is scheduled for a bail hearing tomorrow.

The charges stem from an incident on May 18th when police were called to an area of Saturn Crescent after reports of possible gun shots. 

No injuries were reported but a police check of the roadway found evidence to indicate six rounds from a gun were fired.
