Niagara Teen Strikes Gold

A teen from Vineland has won the gold.

Kieran Lupish took first place at an international trampoline competition in Tokyo Japan.

The 16-year-old went into the championship ranked fourth in the 15-16 age group.

It's his third time participating in the world championships for Canada however it's his first time making the podium.

Lupish originally got into gymnastics and competed at a high level until he injured his shoulder which caused problems for him in many events.

That's when his mother's friend's daughter introduced him to trampolining.

It only took two years for him to make it to the world stage after that.

Lupish hopes to move up to the senior level for double mini-trampoline when he turns 17.
