Niagara River Lions Can Play Under Provincial Return to Play Sports Framework

The provincial government has released a framework outlining a safe return to play for professional and elite-amateur sport leagues and events. 

Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod made the announcement today. 

Leagues included in today's announcement is the Canadian Elite Basketball League, paving the way for the Niagara River Lions to return under certain safety protocols. 

Some of the safety measures include a week-long isolation period before sporting events and mandatory screening and testing for COVID-19. 

The Niagara River Lions will kick off their season on June 24th against the Ottawa BlackJacks.
