Niagara River Jet Boat Stunt Cancelled

FenyxFyre grounded after hyping fear factor

A spokesperson for Whirlpool Jet Boats telling the CBC, they decided to cancel the event after stuntman Christopher Campbell, who goes by the name FenyxFyre, advertised it as more dangerous than it was.

The 51 year old claimed he had 30 seconds to get out of handcuffs and a straightjacket while wearing a mask full of water and riding on a speeding jet boat through the Niagara River rapids.

To add to the fear factor, Campbell said if they hit a wave hard, he could be pitched from the boat.

The jet boat's marketing director Jessica DiCarlantonio telling the news agency "no one has ever been thrown overboard at Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, even in the Class 5 rapids in Devil's Hole. Campbell would've experienced Class 2 rapids and some roils near the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, which are far calmer than Class 5 rapids."

She says there was no danger involved.
