Niagara Public Health Reports 97 New COVID-19 Cases

Niagara reports 97 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the region's active case count to 513.

A significant spike in new COVID-19 infections in Niagara today. 

Public Health is reporting 97 new cases of the virus. 

The area's death toll remains at 444. 

There are 513 active cases, including 122 in St. Catharines, 113 in Niagara Falls and 50 in Fort Erie. 

Public Health also confirms 15 active outbreaks. 

Niagara Health says there are 17 patients with the virus, and five are in ICUs. 

Twelve of the patients aren't vaccinated. 

More than 783,000 vaccinations have been administered to date. 

About 83.7 percent of Niagara residents five and older have one dose, and 79.6 percent have a complete series.
