Niagara Parks Commission Releases List of 2021 Holiday Season Festivities

Enjoy ziplining, the OPG Winter Festival of Lights, Santa and more this season.

The Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) will be celebrating the holiday season with a wide variety of events.

Festivities this year include the OPG Winter Festival of Lights, which is happening until February 21st in downtown Niagara Falls, the Annual Poinsettia Show from November to January at the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse and the new Zipline to the Falls presented by WildPlay Niagara.

We spoke with NPC CEO David Adames, who says the ziplining will give people a new way to enjoy the beauty of the Falls.

"There's been an increase in demand and requests for winter ziplining. It is safe to do, and... you have to see the Falls at different times of the year. So imagine ziplining when the ice formation starts, snow is falling...and they'll be open daily as well."

Also new this year is the Niagara Parks Power Station sound and light show "Currents: Niagara's Power Transformed."

As well, on November 25th and 26th, the Coca Cola Holiday Truck will bring Santa Claus to the corner of Murray Street and the Niagara Parkway, next to Queen Victoria Place.
