Niagara Not Moving on to Stage Two of Reopening This Friday

Niagara will not be moving on to stage two later this week.

The Ford Government will allow the following public health units to move into the next stage of reopening this Friday; 

- Algoma Public Health 

- Brant County Health Unit 

- Eastern Ontario Health Unit 

- Grey Bruce Health Unit 

- Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit 

- Hastings Prince Edward Public Health 

- Huron Perth Public Health 

- Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health 

- Leeds Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit 

- Middlesex-London Health Unit 

- North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit 

- North Western Health Unit 

- Ottawa Public Health 

- Peterborough Public Health 

- Porcupine Health Unit 

- Public Health Sudbury & Districts 

- Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services 

- Renfrew County and District Health Unit 

- Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit 

- Southwestern Public Health 

- Thunder Bay District Health Unit 

- Timiskaming Health Unit 

- Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. 

Those areas will be able to open restaurant patios, hair/beauty salons, shopping malls, public pools, outdoor sports fields and beach access as long as they follow strict public health safety measures. 

Wineries, breweries and distilleries in those areas will also be able to offer tastings and tours. 

The following public health units will remain in stage one until the province deems it safe to move on to stage two; 

- Durham Region Health Department 

- Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit 

- Halton Region Public Health 

- Hamilton Public Health Services 

- Lambton Public Helath 

- Niagara Region Public Health 

- Peel Public Health 

- Toronto Public Health 

- Windsor-Essex County Health Unit 

- York Region Public Health 

The Ford Government will also increase the limit on public gatherings to 10 people this Friday, regardless of where you live. 

The province will release more details on child care, summer camps, post-secondary education pilots, training centres and public transit in the near future.
