Niagara Introducing 10 New Community Safety Zones

You'll want to pay more attention while you're driving past local schools in Niagara.

The Region is adding another 10 Community Safety Zones and you could face double the fine if you're caught breaking the rules of the road in those areas.

The NRP is going to launch a public awareness campaign before its starts enforcement on September 21st.

The new zones are located outside the following schools;

- Alexander Kuska KSG Catholic Elementary School in Welland 
(Rice Road/Regional Road 54 between Quaker Road and Woodlawn Road)

- Blessed Trinity Catholic Secondary School in Grimsby
(Livingston Ave/Regional Road 512 between Roberts Road and Patton Street)

- Crossroads Public Elementary School in Niagara-on-the-Lake
(Niagara Stone Road/Regional Road 55 between the Concession 6 Road roundabout and Four Mile Creek Road)

- DSBN Academy in St. Catharines
(Louth Street/Regional Road 72 between Rykert Street and Pelham Road)

- Greendale Elementary School in Niagara Falls
(Montrose Road/Regional Road 98 between Watson Street and Lundy's Lane)

- John Calvin School in West Lincoln
(Station Street/Regional Road 14 between Spring Creek Road and West Street)

- Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School in Fort Erie
(Central Ave/Regional Road 124 between Gilmore Road and Bertie Street)

- Park Elementary School in Grimsby
(Main Street East/Regional Road 81 between Nelles Road and Bartlett Ave

- Smithville District Christian High School in West Lincoln
(Townline Road/Regional Road 14 between Harvest Gate and Canborough Street)

- St. Ann Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines
(Main Street/Regional Road 87 between Martindale Road and Johnson Street)

There will be signs indicating where the safety zones start and end.
