The Niagara IceDogs raised $15,000, by auctioning off their Ugly Christmas Sweater jerseys.

The OHL team wore the specialty jerseys on December 7th, while hosting the Sarnia Sting at the Meridian Centre. The IceDogs won 6-5.

Captian Akil Thomas and Alternate Captain Philip Tomasino’s jerseys went for the highest price; $1,250.

Someone paid $1,200 for Kyen Sopa’s jersey, while Ivan Lodnia’s jersey was auctioned for $800.

The cash was split between United Way Niagara and Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

Community Care received a cheque for $10,000 and United Way walked away with the remaining $5,000.
