Niagara Health Adds New Addiction Treatment Services

Port Colborne site offering additional support to those looking to overcome substance abuse.

Niagara Health is taking steps to help those suffering from addiction.

The New Port Residential Addiction Treatment Centre is adding new services and customizable programs to serve the individual needs of patients.

Effective immediately, the Centre will provide services to patients pre- and post-treatment, to help them as they come into treatment and transition back into their communities.

These enhancements have been made possible thanks to funding from the province's Ministry of Health.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for many people and created an increased need for addiction services," says Linda Boich, Executive Vice President Quality and Mental Health and Addictions, Executive Lead, Integrated Care. "Enhancing our services will help us to support our patients struggling with addiction and ensure they have the best treatment options customized for their unique needs."

The Centre will also offer more opportunities to start treatment, in order to reduce wait times for anyone seeking addiction services.
