Niagara Falls to Request $200 Deposit for Integrity Commissioner Complaints

You'll have to pay $200 if you decide to file a code of conduct complaint with the Integrity Commissioner in Niagara Falls.

But City Councillor Victor Pietrangelo says it shouldn't really affect your bank account if your complaint is valid.

"The resident pays zero is the complaint is valid. If the complaint is found not valid that is the only time that the municipality cashes the cheque. So really there is no cost to the complainant if it is a valid complaint."

City Council approved the new fee last night and it's the same as Grimsby.

It's a $100 deposit in Fort Erie and St. Catharines charges $36.90.
