Niagara Falls Man Arrested in Drug Bust

A man from Niagara Falls is facing drug and weapons-related charges.

Last month, NRP officers began investigating possible criminal activity in the area of Oakwood Drive and McLeod Road in the Falls.

On Wednesday, a suspect was identified after a search warrant at a storage unit turned up 690 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a 9mm semi-automatic rifle, and loaded prohibited firearm magazines.

Yesterday, the suspect attended Niagara Regional Police Service headquarters in Niagara Falls as required by previous release conditions.

A search of the suspect led to officers seizing 25.8 grams of purple fentanyl, a digital scale and $2110 in Canadian currency.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $7800.

Thirty-four year old Jimmy Alan Carson of Niagara Falls was arrested.

He faces several charges relating to drug and weapon possession.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information on Carson or the case is asked to call police at  905-688-4111, extension 1022202.
