Niagara College Latest to Make Vaccines Mandatory for Students and Staff On Campus

Minimum one shot required by September 7th

Niagara College has joined McMaster University as the latest post secondary schools to announce mandatory vaccine rules for students and staff on campus.

Niagara College has posted the new policy on its website.

School officials say "students, employees, contractors and those visiting a Niagara College campus will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated or have received a first dose of a Health Canada or World Health Organization approved vaccine by September 7, and a second dose/full vaccination by October 18."

Officials adding "with the recent rise in cases, including variants of concern, vaccination rates and increased access to vaccines, requiring vaccination for on-campus study and work is a significant step in ensuring the safety of the Niagara College community, and it helps to bring the college closer to an eventual full return to campus."

Brock University has already put a similar policy in place.
