Niagara College is looking to help those impacted by the war in Ukraine.

The school is offering a wide variety of supports to students from the area, as well as newcomers.

Students facing financial difficulty due to the war can turn to the school's Global Emergency Relief Fund.

It provides students with scholarships and bursaries to help cover tuition or living expenses, and are distributed as needed on a case-by-case basis.

The school's International Division is also offering assistance and flexible payment options to students who have lost bank transfer abilities due to the war.

"Students from around the world study at NC to enrich their lives and fulfill their dreams, and we are dedicated to going the distance for them," said Vice President, International Sean Coote. "During these challenging times, we won’t let our students fall behind due to global circumstances they cannot control. We are stepping up our supports to help ensure that they succeed."

As well, Niagara College says it's offering twenty full scholarships to its English for Academic Preparation Program, to help Ukrainians who have recently arrived in the area.

The program will kickoff in May, and the school plans to offer more opportunities in the coming months.

For information about opportunities for recently arrived Ukrainian visitors to Niagara to attend NC’s English for Academic Preparation program, contact international@niagaracollege.ca or call 905-735-2211 est. 7152.

As well, Niagara College was recently one of 18 Ontario colleges, along with Colleges Ontario and the Ontario College Application Service, to team up with a joint donations of $200,000 to UNICEF's Ukraine emergency fund.
