Niagara Catholic Asking Parents to Prepare for Possible Virtual Learning

Sources say Ford government is moving us back into grey lockdown this weekend

Toronto media reporting this morning that schools will remain open next week, even if we move into grey.

However, what will happen after the April 12th break, is up in the air.

That said the Niagara Catholic School board has sent a letter to parents saying they believe it is important to prepare for a possible return to virtual learning after the long weekend.

The board says while it has no specifics at this time, they do know Niagara has seen a disturbing trend in rising cases of COVID-19.

Parents are asked to remind their children this morning to bring home all personal items they may need for remote learning when they leave school this afternoon.

We should know more through the day.

Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, Co-Chair of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table and Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, will hold a media briefing to present updated modelling on the province's ongoing response to the 2019 novel coronavirus at 10 this morning.

Premier Doug Ford will be joined by the two doctors along with Health Minister Christine Elliott, for an announcement at 1:30 this afternoon.
