Niagara and all of Ontario Return to Grey Lockdown

A long list of businesses have dimmed their lights once again

As of 12:01 this morning, the province returned to the grey lockdown category of the province's nCOVID-19 framework.

That means restaurants will only be allowed to offer takeout service and hair salons and other personal care services will remain shuttered for another month.

Last month, the province eased restrictions for areas in the grey and allowing restaurant patios to open, outdoor fitness classes to resume and hair salons to start taking customers.

But under the current shutdown, all of those businesses are closed again.

The number of people allowed to gather outside has also dropped from 10 to five.

Schools and child care centres will remain open and the April 12th Spring Break is still expected to go as planned,

Retail stores are allowed to remain open but with strict capacity limits

This comes as new cases of the coronavirus continue to surge.

Niagara Public Health reported 112 new cases of the virus yesterday.
