One of the members of the province's Science and Modelling Table has stepped down.

Dr. David Fisman has announced his resignation from Ontario's Science and Modelling Table.

On his Twitter page, Fisman posted a letter addressed to Dr. Adalsteinn Brown, who is co-chair of the table.

Fisman says he is leaving due to political influence.

"More recently, I find myself increasingly uncomfortable with the degree to which political considerations appear to be driving outputs from the tables, or at least the degree to which these outputs are shared in a transparent manner with the public."

The letter is dated August 20th, one day before Fisman stated on social media that the science table isn't releasing modelling data that "projects a grim fall."

"The Ontario science table has important modeling work that projects a grim fall.  I don't understand why they're not releasing that.  It's important for people to understand what lies ahead, and what the stakes are," the tweet says.
