An investigation is underway after someone stole a bag of medicine from a Niagara EMS ambulance.

Police say it happened while it was parked in the ambulance bay of the Welland Hospital on Tuesday.

The bag did not contain any narcotics, but it did contain several medications to treat acute medical conditions.

These medications could cause serious harm if injected or ingested.

The bag is red with yellow zippers with “Stat Packs” written on the front.

It also has two handles that both say “medicine.”

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 20 and 30.

He was wearing a Roots long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a toque and a black backpack at the time.

Anyone with information should contact Niagara Regional Police by calling 905-688-4111.
