Details starting today looking into the use of the Emergencies Act to clear truck blockades in February.
The public inquiry will examine the federal government's first-time use of the 1998 Act, which the Trudeau government used after three weeks of gridlock in downtown Ottawa and several border crossings.
Using the Act gave authorities greater powers to clear protesters who were demanding an end to all COVID 19 lockdowns, vaccine mandates and for the Liberal government to be kicked out of office.
The act also requires that a public inquiry be held to review decisions to invoke it -- and a report from the commission is due by early next year.
