Sylvia Jones says there won't be any change to health care access via OHIP cards.

Ontario's health care minister says people in the province will be able to access health care without paying out of pocket.

During Question Period today, Sylvia Jones was asked if she thinks patients should start paying for care they now receive as of right now.

She responded by saying access to health care through OHIP cards will never change.

However, when asked, she didn't rule out a bigger role for private corporations to deliver public services, which is already taking place in the province.

Her comments come one day after she was criticized for refusing to rule out further privatization in the system.

This comes as hospitals across the province are looking at ways to address staffing shortages that have resulted in temporary emergency room closures.
