UPDATE: Gunman Kills 11 People During Lunar New Year Celebration in Monterey Park

Police say the 72-year-old male suspect was found dead in a van yesterday, hours after shots were fired in a ballroom dance club Saturday night.

CALIFORNIA - The death toll from this weekend's shooting in California has risen to 11.

Authorities say one of the ten people who were wounded has died from their injuries.

The shooting occurred during Lunar New Year celebrations at a dance studio in Monterey Park on Saturday night.

Officers say the 72-year-old male suspect shot himself in a van after an attempted second shooting.

His body was found in Torrance on Sunday.

Police claim the suspect had visited his local police station earlier this month, accusing his family of fraud, theft and poisoning.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the shooting while attending Lunar New Year celebrations in Vancouver's Chinatown.

He said his heart breaks for the people of Monterey Park and Canada will be there to offer support.
