Growing List of COVID-19 Cases at Niagara Schools

Both boards reporting new cases

Niagara Catholic officials say a seventh person has tested positive for the COVID at Loretto Elementary in Niagara Falls, exposing students and staff to the virus.

The board says a fourth individual at Our Lady Of Fatima in St. Catharines has also tested positive, again potentially exposing other members of the school community to the virus.

Niagara Catholic has also learned of a case at Blessed Trinity High School in Grimsby, bringing the active case count at the school to three,

The board says none of the cases are connected so no outbreak has been declared.

Finally, a case of the coronavirus has been confirmed at Notre Dame College School in Welland but Niagara Public Health has determined there is no risk to the school community.

In cases where others may have been exposed to the virus, Niagara Public Health immediately contacts those individuals and places them in self isolation.

Meanwhile, the DSBN is reporting a case each at Harriet Tubman and Ontario Public, both in St. Catharines.
