Gates Criticizes Ford Over Vaccine Delays in Hotspots

Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates says the Ford government needs to address delays faced by postal code hot spots.

Earlier this month, the province released a list of postal codes in Ontario deemed to be hot spots, including the L2G postal code in the Falls.

Gates says that community was not given access to priority lists for vaccines, and the province needs to do more to ensure Niagara gets the vaccines it needs.

"Time and time again, this government’s failure to get Niagara the vaccines it needs is making this pandemic worse. The people of Niagara want an end to this cycle of lockdowns and viruses. We can end that cycle by following the guidelines set out and giving vaccine priorities to more postal codes in Niagara, especially the L2G code, as identified by your own government as a hot spot."

Gates also says that more vaccination dates need to come to Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the-Lake, in order to serve the elderly population in those communities.
